Dancers must place in one of our participating competitions to qualify
Divisions
Guidelines
- Divisions will be scored based on meeting choreography and technical execution.
- Experience levels and guidelines are suggested, whereas criteria and limitations are mandatory.
- Each qualified routine will be placed into a division based on the criteria met within the choreography. Hours or years of training will not be considered.
- Any routine that exceeds the limitations of its designated division will be disqualified.

Novice
Division 2

Masters
Division 1: Novice
Experience Level
- Limited competition experience in the selected style.
- Basic knowledge with minimal training.
- Familiar with foundational steps but may struggle with timing, rhythm, and style-specific techniques.
Guidelines
- Basic skills in technique, performance, and musicality.
Criteria
- Simple choreography including single turns, step hops, etc.
Limitations
- No intermediate-level tricks (e.g., jetés, Russians).
- Hands must remain on the floor.
Division 2: Intermediate
Experience Level
- Some competition experience in the selected style.
- Comfortable with fundamentals and capable of performing basic choreography.
Guidelines
- Dancers display growing technical ability but are still working toward consistency.
Criteria
- Choreography includes intermediate-level tricks.
- Encouraged to showcase style-specific skills proficiently on one side (e.g., pirouettes, jetés, basic Acro elements like front walkovers and cartwheels).
Limitations
- Doubles are the hardest turn sequence permitted (variations of doubles allowed).
- No turns in second, fouettés, switch splits, or aerials.
Division 3: Advanced
Experience Level
- Proficient in the selected style.
- Demonstrates strong technique, rhythm, and body control.
- Performs with confidence and consistency, understanding style nuances.
Guidelines
- High levels of artistry, precision, and stamina are required.
Criteria
- Choreography includes advanced turns (e.g., turns in second, fouettés), acro tricks (e.g., aerials in acro/jazz style), and intricate movement sequences.
- Encouraged to showcase skills on both sides.
Limitations
- Tumbling passes are not permitted.
Division 4: Masters
Age Requirement: Dancers must be 17+ and either pre-professional or continuing dance education beyond secondary school.
Experience Level
- Frequent competition experience in the selected style.
- Highly skilled, demonstrating mastery of technique, timing, and style-specific expression.
- Performs with polished movements and strong stage presence.
Guidelines
- Dancers should exhibit professionalism, artistry, and emotional depth in their performances.
Criteria
- Routines feature highly advanced technical elements.
- Encouraged to display skills on both sides, including triple+ pirouettes, layouts, aerials, and multiple Acro passes.
Limitations
- No restrictions.
Style Categories
Guidelines
- Some styles may be combined, such as Demi/Character Ballet or Contemporary/Modern based on entry numbers.
- Acro Trick Limit: A maximum of three (3) acro tricks is permitted in non-Acro styles.
- Definition of an Acro Trick: Any acrobatic movement held for a set duration, including cartwheels, walkovers, and aerials.
- Exceptions: Jazz/Modern style elements that transition through Acro movements will not be counted, such as valdez, needle to front roll with hands, shoulder stand transitions, and shoulder rolls.

- Age averages .5 and up for rounding.
- Birthday cut off of Dec 31.
- May combine up to two age groups, with single age breakouts based on category size. The competition will follow the rule of 12, and a single age group will remain regardless of category size. ex) 15 routine
